About
UK Autoharps
|

|
There
is a growing community of UK autoharpers who are interested in playing,
attending workshops, meeting other players, and learning more about the
instrument. Founded
in 2001, UK Autoharps has drawn together the skills, interest and
enthusiasm of many individuals to ensure that a range of
autoharp-related activity continues to develop in this country. The
aim of UK Autoharps is to promote the knowledge of and interest in the
Autoharp and to help and encourage the development and playing skills
of all the members.
As
a member of UK
Autoharps, you will:
- Pay a reduced admission fee for
all UK Autoharps
events, including at least three UKAA Days each year, featuring
workshops, activities for all levels of experience, and the chance to
eat lots of cake.
-
Receive news of workshops, performances and
other events. Last year that included workshops in Scotland, the Isle
of Man and the Gate to Southwell Festival. Next year (2012) should
include a big event in Bath as part of the Bath festival. Every year
includes autoharp workshops at Sore Fingers at Easter and October.
-
Receive ‘Autoharp
Notes’, the UK Autoharps newsletter with reports, news and
songs/tunes.
-
Have a chance to say what you would like to see happen
and vote in our AGM.
- Receive
access to the special Members Only Facebook group. This is
a great way of
sharing
what you are up to, and getting instant advice and help. To join this
you need to be a paid up member, and a member of facebook. Then search
out Bob Ebdon, ask to be his friend - he needs all the friends he can
get! - and Bob will add you to the group.
